Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sunny with showers
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

The forecast was for 40mph winds and after such a good day the previous day, I bottled the coast and went to my local lake for the first time in 10 years. What a mistake to make. Gusty rubbish. There was some satisfaction in the speed and flat conditions, but the wind was too intermittant to have lots of fun. The sailors were very friendly, but all the lake stereotypes were in attendence: cheque book sailors, young kids looking the lifestyle but not being able to live it (waiting for mum to pick them up), oddball who makes his own equipment, cliquey instructors.

Won't go back in a hurry.
